\nCan't remember the\u00a0exact\u00a0<\/em>moment I learned about BL, though I do recall my earliest memory of discovering \"homosexual relationships\" would be the time I went down a rabbit hole of gay erotica and porno when I was googling wildly inappropriate search terms as a kid. I think my first instance of seeing yaoi content would be either the time I accidentally came across myreadingmanga trying to find free manga scans of an anime, or the time I stumbled across dmmd gameplay on youtube.<\/p>\n
\nAt first I found it weird and wondered why there wasn't a female character in the picture (since most hentai I saw were predominantly male and female).<\/em>
\nSometimes I would even envision scenarios where a female character walks in on them and somehow magically convinces them to bang her instead. I think I got around to BL scenarios without a female character hijacking the spotlight when I accidentally interpreted doujinshi on myreadingmanga as the canon source material....<\/p>\n
\nNot a lot, I read most of my content online and I tend to only buy manga volumes that contain a sentimental moment or panel that evokes strong emotions. There's something special about flipping through the pages physically and seeing a particular moment in the book that unleashes the water works.
\nAlthough it's not BL, this specific page<\/a> from My Broken Mariko, along with the scene leading up towards it, never fails to make me emotional. It's one of the few books I likely see myself keeping for the foreseeable future, regardless of my shifting tastes and preferences.<\/p>\n
\nI don't have a lot of original BL, though I have a collection of doujinshis<\/a> that are my prized treasures. I hope to expand my collection eventually when I have the budget for it.<\/p>\n

\nI'm not too picky, I have a preference towards character dynamics and personality rather than the setting. If I like the characters\/ship enough I even envision them in multiple AUs where they're in different settings!<\/p>\n
